Programs, Events and Projects by Sheryl Hartman ---------------------------------

since 1980 when she started working for Historic Fort Wayne, Inc. in northern Indiana.  She worked independently going to museums, doing research, and conducting educational programs at schools and historical sites, reenactments and for scouts all during the 1980’s -1990’s.  She purchased property to establish a non-profit organization in 2000 in southern Indiana. For eight years Piankeshaw Trails operated as an historical park with wigwams, amphitheater, hide tanning area, trails, longhouse,  hunting camp and picnic area to the delight of numerous schools, scout troops and opened to the public for two special annual events that were held on site. Lack of funds forced the closure of the park in 2008.  Sheryl still runs the non-profit organization and has expanded with multiple publications, prints and school programs. These pictures are a reflection of that unique and long adventure into history education.  Native American Programs reflect the lives of the Woodland Indians of the Ohio and Wabash Region.
